That being said, I'm ready to start making some real investments in my homeschool classroom. If all goes well the little man cub will be using all this stuff in a few years too, so it's worth getting some quality materials for both of their education. Here is what's on my wishlist right now!
**Note: I am not an Amazon affiliate, I am just providing links to where I plan on purchasing in case you would also like to purchase!
1. Geometric Solid Learning Set | Amazon $15.49
I really want this for E! She loves building/making things, so I feel like these shapes would be great for her to explore. She could learn a lot about them as she's making forts for her ponies, or we could try recreating them with play-doh.
2. Kids Binoculars | Amazon $13.81
I think these might actually be cheaper at Wal-Mart if you catch them at the right time of the year. But I NEED these for E. I plan on spending the majority of our summer outside playing and hiking. I'll be wearing the little man cub and E and I will be exploring. She needs these for optimal explorer status.
3. Geoboards | Amazon $14.19
I saw these over at The Stem Laboratory for the first time and fell in love with them. I love the idea that E would have to follow patterns to create shapes. But not just by the boring old traditional way, with these she has to manipulate a lot of different elements to create her desired picture. Love it! I think it will encourage her critical thinking, an area she's slacking in right now. This is one of my most desired objects!
4. Plastic Pattern Blocks | Amazon $14.99
These are another great manipulative toy for E. I remember playing with these when I was in school and I think it'll be a great sit down activity.
5. Bug Viewer Microscope | Amazon $14.59
Are you kidding me with this thing? It's so awesome! Especially for E, whose favorite thing in the entire world is collecting and examining things from outside. We can find any bug, any stick, any rock, any thing we want and get a closer look right where we're standing. This is tied with the geoboards for my most wanted homeschool item.
6. Kids Microscope | Amazon $8.95
For the price, I'm guessing this thing is pretty junky. But have you ever examined pond water under a scope? Boy howdy, it's miraculous how many things are moving around in there! I have my degree in science, so I love the idea of getting E to explore the world on this microscopic level!
